While
in high school, Hannah participated in the marine biology club which gave her a chance to see what the local community was doing to protect the marine environment and attended an environmental
program at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. She also wrote a thesis titled "The Impact of the Marine Environment on the Development of the United States". Quoting from her letter of recommendation, her sponsor said," In this 16 page (single spaced) essay using 34 resources she traces the cause effect relationship between the U. S. federal government actions (and lack of action) and the reality of dealing with the fragile marine coastal water".
In her application she wrote that she, by becoming a marine biologist, hoped to study and protect the ecosystems of lakes and oceans. The Keuka Lake Association wishes Hannah every success as she pursues her educational and career goals. KLA President, Bob Worden,
